DD New Home Grand Cinema Speaker System Ted | 20091204

Here is something for the addicted audiophile and home cinema hardcore user.   The DD Grand Home Cimena Array consist of LS-241 monitor stacked in multiples. Picture shows 36 pcs speaker system. 12 pcs line arrays as front left and right. 4 pcs center and another 4 pcs for rear left and right. Each LS-241 can handle 100-150 watts of power. This means you can run well over 1 000 watts per channel since the 241s will likely be highpassed around 80Hz. Needless to say you need a beefy amplifier to really take advantage of the speakers potential, but 200 amplifier watts can get near to night club levels. A PreAmplifier and external PowerAmps is probably the way to get high power.  Another way is using a Receiver with pre-outs.  The left and right channel can go higher power through separate Amps, the rest working off the Receiver power. Changes for 2009-2010 Ted | 20091024

Subwoofers There will be some internal changes to all woofers increasing the long term power handling, lowering inductance, lowering moving mass and increasing the ability to deal with clipping amplifier output. Running changes during the last year for all models;  New EROM surrounds with more excursion. Composite cones feature new Kevlar fiber pre-dyed and combined with aluminum on colored cones, black dyed Kevlar/ Carbon Fiber on Carbon cones and natural Kevlar in yellow; all available as options. Matching dust caps or carbon dust caps available as options. 500b Series; 508 (8") and 515 (15") model will be released beginning of 2010 to make a complete woofer range of our hot selling 500 series. 2500 Series; will see a new 2/2 coil. 2500 series will add a PA 18" version. W6.5 Series: will add two new models. A midrange only version, the DDM6.5, and a subwoofer version, DDSW6.5. Composite Dust Caps: The new composite cone/dust cap is now on the web. Dry-look version is shipping. New cone molds have been made for the 1500 and 2500 Series. Components DDA; 5.25 woofer added.  3" mid coming soon, 8" kick bass coming soon. QTR; Electronic crossover, stereo 4 way, ½ DIN crossover using Burr Brown OP amps. Passive crossover: schematic will be available for those who want to build a passive network with best SQ.  Amplifiers C5b:     120x4@4 Ohm Stereo C6b:     300x2@4 Ohm, 1100x1@ 4 Ohm, 1350x1@ 2 Ohm mono CM1:    This is the new price leader from DD amps, a cost effective subwoofer amp.   1000Wrms x 1 class AB power. DD Winners at Swedish Finals 2009 Ted | 20090831

Congratulations to Team DD Sweden for catching FIVE (5) first places in the EMMA/dB Drag finals 2009. One of the trophies came in the SQ class which is really cool. We are so used to win in the dB Drag categories, so taking one gold medal in SQ will generate, as we can see, new markets and segments for DD in the future.
